COMIKAGI (Cooperative Miniere Kababara et Gikingo) is a legally established mining cooperative based in Gakenke District, Rwanda. With over 35 years of experience in the mining industry, COMIKAGI focuses on responsible mineral extraction, operational excellence, and community development.
Established in 1989, COMIKAGI has consistently operated across multiple licensed mining sites, including the Kababara perimeter. The cooperative has grown into a recognized and trusted entity in Rwanda’s mining sector under the leadership of its president, Kayitesi Beatrice.
Our mission is to conduct safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible mining while improving the economic well-being of our members and surrounding communities.
We specialize in the extraction and processing of key minerals such as cassiterite and coltan, which are essential in global industries like electronics and manufacturing.
Our production capacity ranges between 10,000 kg and 20,000 kg. Cassiterite remains the dominant mineral extracted from pegmatite ores.
We utilize magnetic separator machines to improve mineral quality by removing unwanted materials, ensuring higher purity and market value.
We aim to introduce smelting processes to refine minerals locally, increase value, create employment, and contribute to Rwanda’s industrial growth.
